14 weeks

Another week has gone by and I’m now 14 weeks. I had a routine appointment today and was able to hear the baby. Very exciting. The heartbeat was running in the 140s and the nurse said she could feel when the baby would kick the doppler wand. And you could hear a thumping noise when this happened as well. I’m looking forward to feeling the baby move in a few weeks!

I was also told that I’ll be able to schedule my gender appointment at my next appointment (4 weeks from now). They typically do the gender ultrasounds at 20-23 weeks. Since we close on our house at 20 weeks, it’ll more than likely be week 21 or 22 for us. I can’t believe I still have 7-8 weeks left to find out what we’re having! I think we may just have to try out the Drano gender test to see if it will predict what we’re having ;-)

How far along: 14 weeks

Next appointment: June 1st

Any new aches/pains: none. I’m feeling great. I just wish that when I had to go to the bathroom, that the desire to pee wasn’t SO sudden!

Maternity clothes: still fitting my normal clothes. I just have an extra little pooch at the bottom of my shirts.

Sleep: still getting up 1-2 times per night to go to the bathroom. Gage is annoyed by it because I always tend to get up 10-30 min before his alarm goes off. oops.

Best moment this week: getting to hear the baby again!

Movement: nothing yet, but the nurse at the office said she could feel the baby kicking the doppler wand

Food cravings: I had my first crazy intense craving last night. I wanted dessert really bad. All I wanted was a brownie icecream sundae. So my amazing husband went out and bought me some brownies, vanilla icecream and oreos to make a sundae.

Belly button: still there

What I miss: not having to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and feeling like my bladder is going to explode first thing in the morning

What I’m looking forward to this week: having the weekend off to relax

Weekly wisdom: it’s very nice going to an OB appointment and being asked to go to the bathroom immediately upon getting there. I don’t mind peeing in a cup if you let me empty my full bladder right away!

I’m beginning to wonder what’s going on with my belly. Obviously my internal organs have been shoved upwards, but why do I look smaller this week than last week? Very odd. I only gained 1lb from 10-14 weeks. Which is good because by 10 weeks I had gained 4 lbs!

Belly 2 Belly 3

Only 26 more weeks to go!
