The house… an update

So things are moving right along with our house. We officially have walls, windows, a roof, siding, insulation and dry wall waiting to be hung. However, this week we officially had our first non work day. Which means that they’ve pushed back our closing date by one day. It doesn’t sound like that big of a deal, but when you consider the fact that Gage already had a dentist appointment scheduled for the morning of what SHOULD have been our closing date (which oddly enough was scheduled months and months prior) and it was my scheduled day off, it was almost too good to be true. So this non working day has pushed everything back one day. So now our tentative closing date is set for June 16th. Luckily I have awesome coworkers and one has agreed to work for me on the 16th. And is even willing to alter the day she works for me if the day changes again for some reason. So right now we have 6 and a 1/2 weeks left until we officially become homeowners! Now if only I wasn’t going to be 20 weeks pregnant and not allowed to lift more than 20 lbs. That will seriously make things rough for the moving process because I am so OCD about where things go!

As things get closer and closer to being finished on our house, I am left with a lot of purchases to consider. We’re picking up the entertainment center that we ordered 2 months ago this weekend. And while we’re there, we’re going to see if they can order us the dining room table and chairs that match. I’ve also been thinking a lot about a fence for our side yard, sod for the back and side yards (it’s cheaper to have an outside person do it rather than having them do it and tack it onto our mortgage). Then we also need to buy a fridge, washer and dryer and furniture for the baby’s room. Oh, and then there is painting rooms and deciding where furniture goes. It definitely adds up to quite a bit of stuff to consider! But I’m loving every minute of it! (until we get the bill!)

Without further ado, here are some updated pictures of the progress made on our house!

We were able to walk through the house this week and take picture of the insides. It was really hard to take picture of the entire room (especially without drywall) so I won’t post those pictures.

They’re putting up the drywall next week and I've been told we’ll have a chance to go through again soon to take more pictures, so I’ll hopefully be able to post some at that time!
