Waiting...

Waiting seems like the name of the game these days... Date for 2.5 years, get engaged, plan a wedding for 2 years, get married, decide when to have a baby, then wait... Well, we've decided on our timeline and don't really feel like sharing it with anyone to save ourselves from constantly hearing "are you pregnant yet?" "is it time yet?" So our response to the question "have you decided when you want to have kids?" is "we don't know yet!" ;-)

So in the mean time, I'm enjoying spending my time as Auntie Heather..

My sister had the most adorable baby girl, Makayla Colleen on August 31st (the same day as my parent's 25th wedding anniversary). She made her debut bright and early that morning at 6:30am. From the very beginning, I bonded with little Makayla boo. She held my finger with her little slimy hand while they assessed her and then we had a little talk.. And 3 months later, I'm still reminding her of our little talk when she is fussy and being overly dramatic.. I just say "It's you and me kid.. Remember the very beginning?"

From the moment she made her entrance into this world, she has melted my heart..

As I look back at the pictures from her first few days of life, it amazes me how different she looks!




So while we're waiting to have a baby of our own, I'm enjoying watching my little Stinky Face grow and change each and every day.. But let me tell you. If I have to give her another bath after she has a massive diaper blowout and gets her lovely poop ALL OVER HERSELF, I may not be a very nice auntie. Pretty certain I'm up to 5 of them at this point in time!
