BOY!!

I paced back and forth all morning waiting for the time to go pick Gage up from work to roll around. We finally made it to the appointment and got started. She started with profile shots. Our baby was apparently head down and was doing a really good job cooperating. It was really cool getting to see the baby get ready to kick on the screen and then feel it! At one point when she was trying to get a view of the kidneys, she tried to get a sneak peek of the gender, but the baby wasn’t cooperating. So she finished with all her measurements and then was ready to figure out the gender.

She had to wiggle the baby around in my stomach a little bit for the baby to cooperate. She finally got the baby into a position and was able to tell the gender and said “Ok, are you ready to know what we have here?” And then she typed “BOY!” I was sorta in shock because I didn’t see anything on the screen that resembled a gender either way. Then she moved the probe a little bit and it was VERY obvious that it was a boy based on the parts! I looked over at Gage and the first thing out of his mouth was “I told you so!”

Everything looks great, baby looks completely healthy and weighs an estimated 1lb 4oz! So Jacob “Jake” Michael will be joining our family in about 18 weeks or so!

After the ultrasound, we were sitting in the waiting room for my checkup and I turned to Gage and said “Jacob Michael right?” He said, “Yep”. I said “I love that he has a name!” Then I got really giddy and said “He! I said he! He isn’t an it anymore!” I was just telling him last night that I was tired of having to say “it” or “the baby”.
